Biography

Raquel Serenil started her professional music career with an all-girl group named Kloud 9. The teenage team kicked off by auditioning girls in the neighborhood in the summer of 2002. With the experience as the lead singer and group leader, Raquel Serenil matured into the soulful R&B Latin Artist that she is today.

Raquel knew she wanted to sing since the age of 8, after she returned home from Selenas last performance at the Houston Livestock & Rodeo at the Houston Astrodome. Besides Selena, Raquels musical influences include Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, and Celia Cruz. Also on her list of favorite singers are Beyonce, Luther Vandross and Alicia Keyes.

After an overwhelming crowd response at one of Raquels high school talent shows, she made the decision to pursue singing as a full time career. She knew that she would need the support and blessings of her parents, which she received. Raquel has been working hard with vocal instructors, fitness trainers and her dancers throughout the past years. Her shows take hours of preparation. She is under the vocal instruction of Kim Wood Sandusky. Although Raquel was raised with limited means, through hardships & tragedies, she continues to reflect the strength and happiness in her life with full bass sounds and up-tempo melodies. The combination of Hip Hop & Latin Beats with R&B tones gives Raquel a fresh and unique sound. She continues to write mindfully of what she and everyone experiences and in life in general. She believes that although times may be hard, with faith in God and belief in yourself, In Time, anything is possible and all of your dreams can come true. This philosophy influenced the name of her upcoming CD In Time. She shares her life with her audience in her music. The song Im Over It reflects the loss of her father through divorce and then through a tragic death and the strength that is within each of us in times of loss or abandonment. Tell Me & Dime (Spanish version of Tell Me) is the first single release of the titled album In Time. The track represents her Latin heritage combined with Hip Hop influences. Doranor Music infused their Hip Hop/ R&B experience and created a sensational sound. It is important to Raquel that her roots are exposed to the public as she is proud of who she is and the heritage she has embraced both in the Latin and Hip Hop and R&B genres.
